Field System Engineer Industry

We are looking for a Field System Engineer who will work and grow within the west and central Africa Industry department and will report to the Area Business Manager Industry West East and Central Africa. 

This position will be based in Abidjan Côte d’Ivoire, with travel expected 50% of the time. 

What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?  

• Organize the activity: maintenance, response timed, administrative management (field reports memo, business expenses, field reports memo, leaves agenda, activity reports…), 

• Manage spare parts inventory in relation with the Specialist, in accordance with the recommendations 

• Negotiate and sale the maintenance contracts to private labs, hospitals or industry 

• Mentor and train the newcomers or colleague in charge of a new system 

• Fully autonomous, proactive, be a force for bringing forward proposals and reinforce manager’s message 

• Contribute to the action plan definition to the solving of breakdown with SE or specialist, pilot transversal mission on the long run 

• Bring technical support to colleagues on systems on which he/she has strong experience and competence 

• Is referent in at least one « strategic » range and able to advise teams before sale or system engineers on solutions or highly technical ranges 

• Be able to replace specialists during short or midterm missions in partnership with the CRC for expertise maintenance or at second level 

• Be able to manage missions with other subsidiaries or distributors 

Who are you? 

• Knowledge and skills:  

• High School diploma with 3 to 5 years studies, bachelor's degree, master's degree 

• Experience minimum 5 years  

• Electronics/IT/Biotechnology/Maintenance 

• Talents and qualities: 

• Customer Service acumen, analytical & synthesis mindset, availability, people agility 

• Ability to solve complex problems thanks to proven technical experience, in full autonomy, Organizational ability. 

• High level of influencing and pedagogical skills 

• Ability to speak English will be a plus
