The Business Development Manager – Immunoassay North Africa is responsible for defining and executing the regional growth strategy for the Immunoassay portfolio across North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya).

The position drives revenue growth, market share expansion, new product adoption, strategic partnerships, and commercial excellence initiatives while ensuring alignment with regional business priorities.

Acting as a strategic business partner, you’ll report to the General Manager North Africa and collaborate closely with commercial, marketing, medical affairs teams to maximize business opportunities and accelerate market expansion/ penetration.

The position is offered under a permanent contract and is based in Alger, Algeria - with travels across North Africa (~40%).

 

What will your responsibilities be?

 

For the defined range of product Immunoassay, your key responsibilities will be:

 

1/ Business growth & commercial development

  • Develop and execute the regional immunoassay growth strategy
  • Identify and prioritize market opportunities across your region
  • Build and implement strategic action plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets
  • Support commercial teams in complex sales cycles and strategic customer engagements
  • Drive adoption of new products and solution
  • Ensure sustainable business growth and achievements of sales (sell in & sell out) objectives

 

2/ Distributors Management

  • Define and implement distributor strategy by country and follow up execution to reach objectives
  • Work closely with distributors to stay up to date on market evolution
  • Align strategy with distributors to ensure proper execution
  • Drive capability uplift of distributor teams (sales & service)
  • Conduct regular business reviews and joint planning with distributors

 

3/ Market intelligence & competitive analysis

  • Conduct regular market assessments and business review
  • Monitor industry trends, healthcare developments, and emerging technologies
  • Analyze competitor activities and identify opportunities for differentiation
  • Provide strategic recommendations to strengthen bioMérieux’s market position
  • Develop region- specific growth opportunities based on market dynamics

 

4/ Portfolio management & product strategy 

  • Manage the Immunoassay portfolio throughout its lifecycle
  • Support regional product launches and commercialization activities
  • Develop market penetration and expansion strategies
  • Adapt value propositions to local market needs and healthcare environments
  • Monitor portfolio performance and recommend corrective actions when required

 

5/ Commercial capability building

  • Design and deliver product and commercial training programs
  • Develop sales tools, promotional materials, and customer engagement resources
  • Enhance the technical and commercial capabilities of field teams
  • Support onboarding and development of commercial teams across the region

 

6/ Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare stakeholders
  • Partner with scientific societies, professional associations, and healthcare institutions
  • Support scientific and educational initiatives
  • Represent the organization at regional congresses, conferences, and industry events

 

7/ Financial & business performance management

  • Contribute to annual business planning and budgeting processes
  • Develop sales forecasts and monitor business performance
  • Track key performance indicators and provide regular business updates
  • Identify growth opportunities and profitability improvement initiatives
  • Support business reviews with regional and global leadership

 

Who are you?

 

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, immunology, biochemistry, biotechnology, life sciences or any healthcare-related disciplines. An MBA or business qualification would be considered as an advantage.
  • You bring 8–10 years of experience within the In Vitro Diagnostics IVD sector, with solid knowledge of the immunoassay market.
  • You are recognized for driving commercial excellence and translating strategy into impactful business results.
  • You demonstrate proven experience in strategic business planning, portfolio management, and market analysis, combined with strong project management and financial acumen.
  • You are a strategic thinker with strong influencing skills, able to engage and align diverse stakeholders.
  • You are results-oriented and solution-driven, with a clear focus on customer satisfaction.
  • You thrive in cross-cultural environments, fostering collaboration and teamwork, while also being able to work independently.
  • You demonstrate high levels of adaptability and agility in a fast-paced environment. You bring an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive innovation.
  • You are fluent in Arabic and French, and intermediate (B2 or plus) in English.
  • You are willing to travel across the North Africa region (approximately 40%).
