We are looking for a
Medical Science Liaison – The Netherlands (m/f/d)
Reporting to the Cluster Medical Director and accountable of the IVD portfolio regarding Syndromic, AMR/AMS and Sepsis bioMérieux diagnostic solutions, you will be responsible for supporting the scientific medical strategy of bioMérieux. This is a field-based role, meaning you will be spending the majority of your time engaging directly with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and medical institutions across your territory.
Main missions and accountabilities include:
- Develop the scientific image of bioMérieux with key healthcare stakeholders as a leader in the diagnosis of infectious disease
- Lead scientific and medical communication on the company's products to healthcare professionals, patient associations and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legislation and bioMérieux ethical principles.
- Identify, recruit, leverage and maintain privileged scientific professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) involved in the treatment of different infectious diseases across The Netherlands in order to understand patient care pathways and their need in terms of unmet medical needs, medical information and medical education.
- Contribute to Evidence Generation participating to company-sponsored post-market studies, supporting Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) in line with global strategy and according to Medtech requirements and bioMérieux SOPs, and supporting clinical development initiatives including site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of final approved data.
- Provide operational and medical support to marketing and sales teams (Account Managers, Clinical Implementation Managers, …)
- Respond to complex medical information requests, including off-label inquiries, with evidence-based, balanced an compliant information, and support the development of medical engagement strategies for disease management.
What you bring:
- A scientific university degree; an advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) is desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a natural ability to build lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Dutch, both at business-proficient level
- The ability to present complex clinical and scientific data clearly, whether in an intimate one-on-one or a larger group setting
- A self-starter with a genuine can-do attitude. You take initiative, manage your territory with focus and autonomy, and bring energy and optimism to everything you do
- The resilience to thrive in a dynamic launch environment: you navigate ambiguity and setbacks with a solutions-first mindset and never wait for the perfect roadmap to move forward
- Comfortable working both independently and as an active contributor within a multidisciplinary team
- Based in The Netherlands, with willingness to travel extensively within your region
Nice to have:
- Industry experience is desirable.
- Experience in the therapy area of infectious disease, intensive care or emergency care along with a solid professional reputation for interacting productively with healthcare professionals in the field.
- Direct experience in a product launch, ideally within infectious diseases or a related therapeutic area
- Familiarity with hospital and health system access dynamics, including formulary processes and antimicrobial stewardship programs
