Position: Manager- Medical Affairs
Education: MBBS & MD/DNB In Microbiology or Infectious Disease Training or similar educational qualification
Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar role
Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad
Reporting to: Head – Medical Affairs


Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:
1. Provide in-depth scientific, clinical, health economic and educational information to external customers (clinical & lab-based) and other potential stakeholders in support of company goals and initiatives.
2. Work to identify, engage and develop long term relationships with current and rising thought leaders in infectious disease, laboratory medicine, critical care and other relevant specialties. Additional interactions will include key institutional personnel within laboratory, infection control, pharmacy and C-suite.
3. Responsible for the identification of research and allied educational opportunities and ensure completion within the defined timeline.
4. Management of product evaluations to demonstrate applications and performance specifications as and when required by local or corporate teams for meeting business objectives.
5. Be knowledgeable in the appropriate medical literature in order to facilitate a clear and succinct discussion of the clinical outcome and value characteristics of portfolio products and competitors.

Job Description
• Actively participate in different medical and scientific forums in order to provide in-depth scientific, clinical, health economic and educational information to external customers and other potential stakeholders.
• Identify and develop professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, Clinicians, Antimicrobial Stewards, Infection Control teams and Institutional Leadership.
• Utilize insights from clinician interactions to ensure that brand strategy maximizes the medical benefits for patients and physicians.
• Communicate key information and important case studies gathered from customer interactions back to bioMerieux leadership and document appropriately.
• Be a resource for bioMerieux Customer Facing team as requested.
• Provide training to internal team on medical, scientific, and technical issues.
• Understanding diagnostic concepts and application to the clinical setting.
• Conduct discussions with external investigators to identify potential research gaps and contribute as required.
• Provide support to Speaker and Sales Training programs and Advisory Board meetings as needed.
• Attend pertinent sessions at professional meetings and report back information of strategic interest.
• Provide Medical Affairs support at professional meetings including Conferences.
• Collaborate with other functions and associates as appropriate.
• Stay up-to-date on appropriate disease state and clinical information, product data, and competitor landscape.


Skills and Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated ability to write/publish articles in peer reviewed journals.
2. Direct diagnostic laboratory experience with clinical exposure is preferred.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Access to KOLs.


Scope and Resources Accountability, typical Performance Indicators:
1. Effective delivery of the scientific communication strategies.
2. Creation and nurturing of a pool of relevant KOLs to help drive medical education.
3. Actively support in evidence/data generation.
4. Efficient management of all product evaluations as required by local or corporate teams to ensure that objectives for such evaluations are met in a smooth and timely manner.
