About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager for Point of Care (POC) to drive the growth, visibility, and market positioning of our innovative POC diagnostics portfolio across the UK & Ireland.

This is a high-impact role for an individual who thrives on shaping markets, influencing clinical pathways, and accelerating adoption of rapid diagnostic solutions that transform patient care and improve healthcare efficiency. Reporting into our Director of Clinical Sales, you will:

Market Development & Strategy

  • Identify and prioritise high‑value opportunities across NHS, private healthcare, GP networks, urgent and community care.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and healthcare drivers to inform strategic planning.
  • Co‑develop go‑to‑market strategies to expand adoption of POC solutions.

Commercial Growth

  • Generate new business opportunities and build a strong pipeline.
  • Lead complex POC projects requiring pathway redesign, value-based discussions and senior clinical engagement.
  • Track KPIs, forecasting and commercial performance, recommending actions for continued growth.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build relationships with clinicians, POCT leads, pathway managers, procurement teams and key NHS decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders to support evidence generation and advocacy.
  • Represent the organisation at key industry events and customer workshops.

Clinical & Pathway Expertise

  • Act as the subject matter expert for POC diagnostics focused on clinical utility, integration, and economic value.
  • Work closely with marketing, medical affairs and market access to translate evidence into compelling value stories.
  • Advise customers on POC implementation across pathways including respiratory, sepsis, AMS, emergency care and community triage.

Implementation & Customer Success

  • Support onboarding, training and adoption of POC solutions to ensure long-term customer success.
  • Capture customer insights to inform product improvement and strategic direction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sales, marketing, medical affairs and market access teams to ensure cohesive commercial execution.
  • Contribute to development of value propositions, sales tools and internal training.

 

Who are you?

  • Strong understanding of diagnostics, NHS structures and POC environments.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales or pathway transformation within healthcare.
  • Experience introducing innovative diagnostics or disruptive technologies in the UK & Ireland healthcare landscape.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to turn complex clinical data into clear commercial value.
  • A proactive, autonomous, solutions‑oriented approach.
