We have an exciting opening for an IT Field Application Specialist to join our Customer Service team. This position is field based and reports to the Director Customer Service UKI. You will ideally be based in North England or Scotland. This role is approx. 50% at home and includes national travel spread across 3 other Field IT applications specialists.
What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?
The Field IT Application Specialist is responsible for the technical installation and support of bioMérieux Data & IT Solutions such as VILINK, MYLA/MAESTRIA, CLARION (but not limited to) and their connection with other systems (bioMérieux or third party).
You will be consulting with clients on system context, hardware and network configuration topics and installing, configuring and upgrading bioMerieux hardware and software.
You are required to provide high level technical support related to the bioMerieux solutions and answer internal and external customer inquiries. This includes troubleshooting remotely and over the phone as well as on-site lab IT support.
You will configure, validate and troubleshoot interfaces between bioMérieux solutions and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), ensuring reliable system connectivity and data exchange. You will support customers throughout system integration, update and upgrade projects, including interface configuration, connectivity testing, workflow validation and go-live activities. Working closely with customer IT teams, middleware providers and third-party vendors, you will ensure successful system interoperability, seamless data flow and the effective operation of laboratory workflows. As a trusted technical specialist, you will play a key role in delivering successful implementations and providing ongoing support to customers.
You will also be assisting with the launch and implementation of new systems and provide customer training to enable client self-sufficiency and participate in training for internal colleagues.
Who are you?
- You must have a bachelor’s degree either in computer sciences or equivalent.
- Knowledge of information management software, LIS/HIS and middleware interfacing, networking protocols and IT security
- Experience in clinical information system interoperability standards, such as HL7, XML, CLSI, IHE would be an advantage.
- Knowledge in laboratory/ hospital workflow would be preferable.
- It is essential to be customer and solutions oriented with an ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment
