We are seeking for a  Chief Data Officer (CDO) who will be responsible for driving the strategic vision, planning, and execution of data initiatives within the organization.

Reporting to the SVP CIO of the company, your primary focus will be to leverage data assets to enhance business outcomes, drive innovation, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of data professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish data governance frameworks, implement data management strategies, and foster a data-driven culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Data Strategy and Governance:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.
    • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Define data architecture and infrastructure requirements to support current and future business needs.
  2. Data Management:
    • Oversee the collection, storage, processing, and analysis of structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.
    • Implement data management best practices and technologies to optimize data workflows, storage, and accessibility.
    • Drive initiatives to improve data quality, integrity, and accessibility across the organization.
  3. Data Analytics and Insights:
    • Lead efforts to derive actionable insights from data through advanced analytics, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience.
    • Develop and communicate data-driven recommendations and insights to key stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
  4. Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals, including data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the data organization and across the company.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership, business units, and IT teams to align data initiatives with overall business strategy and priorities.

 

Who are you ?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) Data Management , analytics and Business data needs analysis, a senior Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, techniques, and technologies, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and privacy regulations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, etc.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, drive innovation, and translate business requirements into data solutions.

 

Location: This position is based in our Headquarters in Lyon area ( Craponne ) or in our office in Paris and may require regular travel.
