The rapid sterility testing market is entering a period of accelerated change driven by increasing regulatory acceptance of rapid microbiological methods (RMM), growth in advanced therapies, emerging testing technologies and increasing customer demand for faster product release, automation, and digitalization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Global Market Application Leadership:

  • Own the global market strategy and long-term vision for the sterility testing portfolio within the Pharmaceutical Quality Control business
  • Develop deep expertise in rapid sterility testing applications, customer workflows, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes across priority segments
  • Monitor market, regulatory, technology, and competitive trends to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging customer needs
  • Partner with Global Strategic Marketing/Segment Marketing, Regional Marketing and Business Development to shape portfolio strategy and strategic growth priorities
  • Define market access strategies and support commercial tools to accelerate market adoption
  • Provide strategic market intelligence and recommendations that guide portfolio investment and long-term business planning.

 

Voice of Customer and Market Insights:

  • Lead Voice of Customer programs with customers, Key Opinion Leaders, Global Strategic & Key Accounts, and industry partners to identify unmet needs and future market opportunities
  • Translate customer and market insights into actionable recommendations that inform innovation priorities, portfolio strategy, and commercial decision-making
  • Partner with Scientific Affairs, regional teams, and strategic customers to execute beta evaluations and validate product concepts under real-world conditions
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer workflows, purchasing drivers, competitive positioning, and adoption barriers.

 

Innovation and Portfolio Strategy Leadership:

  • Lead the innovation strategy for the Sterility Testing portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, customer needs, and market opportunities
  • Own marketing deliverables for Product Development Process Phases 0–2, including opportunity identification, market assessment, commercial feasibility, business case development, and product definition
  • Develop customer segmentation, market requirements, target product profiles, value propositions, pricing strategies, business models, and go-to-market strategy
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations, business cases, investment proposals, and portfolio updates to the Portfolio Governance Committee and senior leadership, influencing portfolio prioritization and investment decisions
  • Monitor subsequent PDP phases to ensure development activities remain aligned with market requirements and commercialization objectives.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Lead strategic initiatives across a global, matrixed organization through collaboration and influence, ensuring alignment among senior management, R&D, Scientific Affairs, Business Development, Operations, Finance, Global Strategic Marketing, Regional Marketing, and Commercial teams to achieve portfolio and business objectives.

 

 

Who are you?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related life sciences discipline. MBA or advanced degree highly desirable.
  • At least 8 years of combined experience in strategic marketing, product management, innovation, or business development experience
  • Fluent in English: fluency in French is a plus.
  • You are recognized for your leadership and communication skills and can distill complex topics into simple and clear messages for different stakeholders
  • You have a strong team spirit, and are customer oriented
  • You are results driven with the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • You are willing and able to support subsidiaries outside of local business hours

 

Knowledge of technologies in the rapid sterility testing landscape including, growth-based methods, direct measurement methods, nucleic acid testing (PCR, sequencing/NGS) is highly desirable.

 

You are willing to travel both domestically and internationally 30-50% of the time.

 

This position is based in Craponne (France) or Europe.
