We are looking for a PLD Specialist - Writing and Translation Tools Engineering in Craponne, who will support technical writers in their use of the department's writing tool (CCMS), which is currently based on the DITA standard, for creating and updating Instructions for use of products marketed by bioMérieux, and to propose all the necessary developments in its area of ​​expertise to sustain the excellent operational performance of the department.

 

He acts as a referent for this tool, providing teams with advice, support and assistance in resolving issues related to activities such as, among others: structured writing, content reuse, localization workflow and publication.

He actively contributes to the department's overall strategy by investigating and proposing all necessary developments to the tool in place and any other innovative solution allowing technical writers to benefit from the best technologies in their daily lives.

He may be required to manage internal projects in the department as part of changes to processes and/or tools decided by management.

 

This position requires, in addition to a perfect mastery of XML-based writing tools and a practical knowledge of shared content management systems, a real appetite for new technologies and a very good knowledge of the fields of AI and more particularly of Generative AI.

 

What will be your missions ?

 

  • Configure tools and update/publish document templates,
  • Provide support to teams to ensure that expected deliverables are compliant with requirements, of high quality and produced on time,
  • Evaluate, plan and convert existing documentation into a structured format,
  • Provide recommendations to improve standard technical writing practices, support content reuse and localization workflows, help produce deliverables in multiple formats,
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to content architecture and localization workflows,
  • Create and maintain internal procedures, establish and ensure compliance with good practices, provide the training necessary for the proper use of tools,
  • Maintain our relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to contribute to the evolution of drafting processes and tools,
  • Lead option evaluation projects, propose solutions and validate strategies and tools to meet emerging needs and requirements,
  • Identify new opportunities with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in generative AI.

 

What is your background ?

 

  • BS / BA in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or related technical field,
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential,
  • Demonstrated experience with XML-based authoring tools and content management systems required,
  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or other regulated environment is preferred,
  • Experience working with DITA Open Toolkit is preferred.

  • Strong expertise with XML authoring tools (such as Oxygen XML Editor),
  • Ability to work independently as well as work in an international team environment,
  • Excellent written / verbal communication and presentation skills,
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
