The headquarter of Mérieux University is located to the west of Lyon (France) in “le Domaine de Montcelard”, and 4 Regional Hubs are dedicated to our international sessions (China, USA, Shanghai, France).
As an Account Manager, you will play a key role in expanding our presence in the Central-Southern Italy region by developing strong customer relationships and driving sales performance in the Industrial Microbiology field. You will manage a dynamic territory, promote our portfolio of instruments, reagents, and services, and help shape our growth in the Food market.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Own and grow the business in your assigned region (Food Industries & Third-Party Labs)
- Identify new business opportunities and close deals to exceed sales targets
- Develop strong relationships with customers, including C-level stakeholders
- Promote high-value solutions through consultative and solution-based selling
- Coordinate closely with Marketing, Technical Application Specialists, Supply Chain, and Tender Office to deliver the best customer experience
- Create and execute impactful business action plans and customer projects
- Lead the tender and quotation processes
- Report sales results, territory KPIs and competitor activities regularly
- Maintain an accurate forecast and use CRM tools to track progress (Salesforce experience is a plus)
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 3–5+ years of successful B2B sales experience preferably in the Food industry & Microbiology fiels
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent (Microbiology or Molecular Biology knowledge is a plus)
- Proven ability to sell solutions and manage a full sales cycle
- Highly customer-focused with a collaborative, proactive mindset
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, including with senior executives
- Analytical thinker with strategic planning capabilities
- Resilient, enthusiastic, dynamic, and results-driven
- Ability to manage a large, diverse territory and work independently
- Italian and English Language proficiency
- Availability to travel (80-90% of work time)
- Comfortable with digital tools (CRM, MS Office, virtual presentations)
