bioMérieux, a world leader in in-vitro diagnostics, is offering an internhsip opportunity as Continuous Improvement Engineer at our manufacturing site located in Florence, Italy.  

WHAT WILL BE YOUR responsibilitIES ?

As Continuous Improvement Engineer you will contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives aimed to enhance industrial performances of the site, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, manufacturing productivity, and process digitalization.

The internship project will focus on:

• Actively contributing to maintain the Continuous Improvement routine in place: 5S, Idea Collection, CI trainings, Gemba Walk, Short Interval Meetings, sharing of CI initiatives
• Supporting Continuous Improvement and Lean projects: Value Stream Mapping for production lines, identification of waste and non-value added activities, data analysis, identification of saving opportunities
• Partecipating in Digitalization initiatives supporting continuous improvement of Operations processes, including implementation of Daily Management System, development of digital solution using no-code/low-code platforms, and exploring AI application opportunities

WHO ARE YOU

• Bachelor’s degree or Master degree in Industrial Engineering area
• Interest in Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence, digital tools, and data-driven approaches, with willingness to learn and contribute in an industrial environment
• Italian language: fluent
• English language: able to manage written and oral communication

This role internship offers the opportunity to develop following competences: 

• • Understanding of manufacturing and operational processes in a regulated industrial environment
  • Application of Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Exposure to digital transformation in Operations, including development of digital applications using no-code platforms
  • Understand functioning of In-Vitro diagnostics instrumentation
  • Get familiar with compliance to quality standards (IS09001, ISO13485)
  • Collaboration with different industrial operations functions: Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain
