Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:
Developing and accelerating the commercial development of microbiology, molecular and immunoassay, as well as delivering on growth targets, providing P&L support and financial forecasting and reporting, to achieve the desired market share and targets in a defined market sector in collaboration with the distributor.
Main Accountabilities:
For a defined range of products: Clinical Microbiology, Molecular and Immunoassay
· Support the distributor to define and roll out best-in-class practices in Clinical, Microbiology, Molecular and Immunoassay to drive sales, profit and client retention.
- In collaboration with the distributor, develop, implement and execute new and continuing customer education on Identification and Antimicrobial Susceptibility testing, including Blood culture in partnership with multiple stakeholders (Medical, Marketing, Distributors, Application specialists, etc.).
- Develop, implement and execute new and continuing customer education on our solutions in partnership with the distributor
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of BioMérieux products, customers, and business objectives to develop, implement and execute educational programs aimed at impacting the prescription of BioMérieux solutions across the portfolio
- Engage in fieldwork through periodic visits to understand the current selling, competitive, clinical and healthcare environment, identify and drive new business opportunities.
- Work closely with the Medical, sales and marketing leaders to align initiatives that are developed, executed and measured for Health Care Provider engagement and impact.
- Optimize our Identification and Antimicrobial Susceptibility value proposition to create a better synergy between Microbiology & patient management teams
Typical Studies-Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
· A minimum Bachelor of Science in Laboratory and Science, with additional recognized training in Business, will be an asset.
· 5-7 years in a clinical application, commercial management role or healthcare marketing
· Minimum 2+ years in Multinational Laboratories.
· Minimum 3+ years of clinical/ hospital experience.
Professional Education experience required.
· Experience with curriculum creation is a plus.
· Experience in training users on the bioMerieux solutions is required
· Must be able to effectively communicate with health care professionals, foster and support the relationships and recommend approaches to most effectively leverage business needs with health care professionals via educational strategies.
- Start to End Project Management knowledge and interest
- Ability to work with large, diverse teams externally and internally to deliver on the mandate to uncover and develop opportunities for bioMerieux
· Travel required, up to 40%.
Skills & Competencies:
· Excellent knowledge of the clinical medical laboratory landscape and practices in Eastern Africa. Understanding of the growth strategy for Immunoassay in developing markets for ideation and execution
· Commercial acumen and record of accomplishment in delivering revenue growth.
· Fluency in English is a must
- Strong client-facing skills and experience in selling Clinical laboratory solutions in the healthcare industry.
- Must be highly organized, demonstrate leadership qualities and initiative, and be able to operate independently
