bioMérieux is strengthening its industrial capacity to better serve its customers by establishing a new syndromic tests production unit at the La Balme-les-Grottes site.
A strategic project has been launched, which involves expertise sharing and collaboration between our American and French teams based in La Balme-les-Grottes and Grenoble.

This ambitious project offers real chances to grow professionally in an innovative and international environment.

 

To support the growth of our team and further develop our expertise, we are looking for our future Equipment Project Manager, who will report to the Equipment Workpackage Leader.

 

What will your responsibilities be?

 

  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Manage one or more projects involving manufacturing equipment including but not limited to following phases – planning, procurement, build, delivery, install, qualification, and launch.
  • Lead sub-projects to install support equipment to fully implement a manufacturing area.
  • Define the project plan including critical milestones from procurement to launch.
  • Develop or manage the creation of risk assessments, timelines, and reports that support the equipment project lifecycle.
  • Lead project teams of industrialization, maintenance, production, HSE, and validation team members to execute the setup of a manufacturing area including the development, procurement, qualification – FAT, SAT, Validation – and launch of production equipment
  • Manage the project scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Monitor and communicate project performance through periodic reporting.
  • Manage the project risk analysis and manage implementation of associated risk reduction measures. Escalate risks if necessary.
  • Identify, prioritize and proactively monitor changes that may affect the project.
  • Identify and implement change management in response to business drivers.
  • Define and implement the maintenance strategy for equipment.
  • Collaborate with quality team members to ensure Quality Management System and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, with at least 5 years of proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally with knowledge of manufacturing processes, production, automation, and/or laboratory equipment
  • Ability to effectively lead and integrate cross-functional teams (HSE, Quality, Validation, Industrialization) to achieve project goals
  • Experience in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, IVD, medical devices, food, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables in parallel
  • Excellent communication skills: able to convey information clearly and effectively across diverse stakeholders and cultures
  • Proficient in project management tools, budget analysis, and risk management (e.g., Explore)
  • English: advanced level, fluent in both written and spoken (B2 minimum) – collaboration with American PMs
  • French: B2 minimum
  • Position based in La Balme (local contract)
  • Willingness to travel to Salt Lake City as required (up to 4 times per year) - for onboarding, at least two trips (3 weeks each) to Salt Lake City are expected within the first 3 to 6 months
