The headquarter of Mérieux University is located to the west of Lyon (France) in “le Domaine de Montcelard”, and 4 Regional Hubs are dedicated to our international sessions (China, USA, Shanghai, France).
As IT Apprentice based in Madrid reporting to the Iberic IT Manager you will be responsible to migrate our computer base installed from W10 to W11. You will travel around Iberia laboratories to managing the obsolescence equipment doing migrations to W11 or changes PCs in each laboratory/instrument.
What will be your missions at bioMérieux?
- Migrate our systems to Windows 11 on Iberia
- Support mandatory and optional software and firmware patches and upgrades.
- Discuss with hospital IT people about cybersecurity and networks, to connect our equipment to the hospital network and our remote support platform.
- Win remote connections on the Iberia Hospitals
- Create and maintenance the remote platforms using VPNs
- Provide direct support to both internal and external customers/Operators and end users : helping set up hardware or software, Troubleshooting and diagnosing connectivity / data access problems, answering questions about hardware or software
- Provide consistent follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and meet minimum key performance indicators.
- Keep stakeholders informed/updated
- Support rolling out new pro-active IT service tools and processes.
Who are you?
- University Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science; or an equivalent field; or Vocational Training qualifications such as Intermediate Vocational Training in Microcomputer Systems and Networks, or Advanced Vocational Training in Telecommunications and Computer Systems or Network Systems Administration.
- Vocational Specialization Course in Cybersecurity in IT Environments or Postgraduate studies or certifications in Networks, Routing, Switching (e.g. CCNA) will be highly valued.
- Internships in companies in the healthcare sector will be a plus
- Ability to perform software updates, parameter validation and verification, Internet Protocol configuration, Wireless Modems/Routers setup, Cloud systems and services, and Cybersecurity. Basic knowledge of LIS/HIS configuration is also desirable.
- Knowledge and experience in Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
- Familiarity with processes and workflows in clinical analysis laboratories.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with hospital IT staff to install and configure remote software and connection systems.
- Problem-solving: Demonstrated troubleshooting skills both remotely and on customer sites.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical thinking, teamwork orientation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passionate about the healthcare sector and eager to learn every day.
- Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese will be considered a plus.
Business travel (IBERIA) is to be expected (90%)
