As an Insight Sales Trainee (Industry), you will join the Iberia Industry Sales team, gaining hands-on experience in commercial activities within the food industry sector. This internship is designed as a structured learning journey, enabling you to progressively develop commercial, analytical, and customer interaction skills, supported by experienced sales professionals.
 

You will work closely with Inside Sales, Field Account Managers, Marketing, and other internal teams, contributing to real business activities in an international environment.

 

Key Learning Areas & Responsibilities:

 

1. Commercial Support & Customer Interaction

You will progressively learn how to support commercial activities for a selected group of industrial customers (food industries), always with guidance from the sales team:

  • Learn how to manage and follow up on customer requests, providing product or service information by phone and email.
  • Support Field Based Account Managers with internal coordination and administrative sales processes, acting as a link with other departments.
  • Participate in customer calls and communications, including invitations to events, trainings, or internal initiatives.
  • Learn how to prepare commercial offers and price quotations, under the supervision of the sales team and in line with defined commercial conditions.
  • Support follow-up activities with customers after quotations or proposals.
  • Gain exposure to maintenance contract offers, understanding how value is presented to customers.
  • Take part in weekly team meetings and collaborate on ad‑hoc sales or commercial projects.
  • Support basic sales reporting activities, such as dashboards, KPIs, and pipeline updates for assigned customers.
  • Progressively develop confidence in outbound customer contact, contributing to daily call activities adapted to your learning curve.

 

2. CRM & Data Management (Salesforce)

You will be trained to use CRM tools and understand their importance in sales performance and customer knowledge:

  • Learn how to update and maintain customer and installed base information in Salesforce, contributing to data accuracy and quality.
  • Develop good CRM habits by supporting data quality, cleansing activities, and basic reporting.
  • Gain exposure to how CRM data is used for sales analysis, marketing campaigns, and competitor monitoring.

 

3. Progressive Exposure to Lead Management & Prospecting

Depending on your development and confidence over time, you will gradually be exposed to additional commercial activities:

  • Introduction to lead management, learning how leads are generated (events, website, campaigns) and followed up in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Support customer follow-up related to trade fairs, workshops, webinars, or conferences.
  • Learn basic prospecting techniques via phone and email, always with clear guidance and objectives.
  • Develop questioning and listening skills to understand customer needs and learn how solutions are positioned to address them.

 

Who are you:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Interest in sales, customer interaction, and business development.
  • Background or interest in microbiology or life sciences is a plus, but not required.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable using digital tools and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Curiosity and openness to learn CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage several tasks with support.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong motivation to grow in a commercial environment.
  • Ability to sign an internship agreement with the educational institution is essential.
