We are looking for a Strategic Marketing Manager Biomarkers whose mission is to provide business-driven strategic direction and identify market and product opportunities that will support bioMérieux’s future growth.

Biomarkers will be the first area of focus, but the scope of this role also extends to other strategic areas of interest identified by the company.

This position requires close collaboration with upstream functions of bioMérieux: Medical Affairs, R&D, Business Development, Market Access, and other Global Marketing teams.

 

 

What will be your missions within bioMérieux?

 

They are centered around 3 main areas:

 

Strategic Direction Definition:

  • Analyze market dynamics, unmet needs, and technology trends to define a business-oriented strategic roadmap for biomarkers and other fields of interest.
  • Incorporate customer insights, competitive landscape, and clinical drivers to build actionable strategies that maximize growth opportunities.
  • Develop frameworks to assess and prioritize initiatives based on market attractiveness, clinical value, and financial feasibility.
  • Align strategic direction with corporate goals and investment priorities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

 

Upstream Project & Portfolio Support

  • Provide strategic marketing insights to guide upstream R&D and portfolio initiatives.
  • Build robust business cases including market size estimations, adoption potential, financial projections, and competitive positioning.
  • Ensure product and solution concepts address both market needs and clinical relevance in collaboration with R&D, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory teams.
  • Support early-stage development initiatives by articulating customer value propositions and differentiation levers.

 

External Opportunity Triage

  • Lead the assessment and prioritization of external opportunities (partnerships, licensing, acquisitions) in biomarkers and other areas of interest.
  • Support due diligence processes by providing market analyses, competitive benchmarking, and strategic recommendations.

 

 

Who are you ?

 

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in biology, biochemistry, immunology, biotechnology, or a related life sciences field OR significant professional experience in strategic marketing, portfolio management, or business development within diagnostics or life sciences.
  • Strong experience in IVD is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of biomarker technologies, their clinical applications, and the competitive landscape is a strong advantage.

  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work across functions, geographies, and cultural contexts. 
  • Proficiency in market analysis methodologies, financial modeling, and portfolio planning tools.
  • Understanding of biomarker discovery, validation, and clinical implementation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and reimbursement pathways relevant to diagnostics, especially biomarkers.
