We are looking for a Strategic Portfolio Manager Adjacencies for our Marcy l’Étoile site, who will identify market and product opportunities that will support the future growth of bioMérieux in adjacent segments to those currently covered by bioMérieux.
He will be working closely with bioMérieux’s upstream departments: medical affairs, innovation, acquisitions and partnerships, market access, and marketing.
The Strategic Portfolio Manager Adjacencies will be responsible for evaluating market and product opportunities, defining strategies to enter these markets, and contributing to internal innovation projects in the upstream phase.
What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?
As a member of the Adjacency Task Force (ATF), your mission will be to evaluate market opportunities adjacent to bioMérieux’s current scope.
Your responsibilities will be organized around these 3 areas:
Evaluation of Adjacent Market Opportunities:
- Define a scoring system to prioritize opportunities and evaluate them systematically,
- Conduct in-depth evaluations on priority topics, leveraging internal knowledge and external sources such as market studies,
- Lead the preparation and presentation of results to senior management, ensuring that conclusions are actionable.
Other Strategic Marketing Topics More Related to Market Segments or Technologies Currently Covered by bioMérieux:
- Analyze current trends and practices by consolidating existing data (bioMérieux, competition, market trends, regulatory aspects, etc.),
- Develop strategies for entering identified markets,
- Actively participate in the screening process to review external opportunities,
- Support early-stage development projects in various fields,
- Participate in Due Diligence projects.
Optimization of Strategic Marketing Processes and Methodologies:
- Drive continuous improvement of strategic marketing frameworks and methodologies toward a world-class strategic marketing organization, with structured methodologies and a systematic, data-driven approach to define strategies and evaluate product and market opportunities.
Who are you ?
- Engineering degree or graduate business school, master’s in business administration, marketing, strategy, or healthcare management, ideally with a specialization in healthcare (e.g., biomedical engineering, life sciences + MBA).
- Experience in market analysis and opportunity evaluation: skills in conducting market assessments through internal and external data sources, competitive intelligence, and customer insights.
- Familiarity with the healthcare/IVD market access landscape and regulatory pathways.
- Methodology and strategic thinking: ability to structure problems logically and develop actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in managing multiple strategic projects, leading structured processes, and aligning with stakeholders.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, both locally and internationally.
- Strong ability to synthesize complex information for management.
- Analytical mindset, problem-solving orientation.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Curiosity, willingness to explore new markets, technologies, and methodologies.
