We are looking for a Strategic Portfolio Manager Sequencing for our Marcy l’Étoile site, whose mission will be to develop a strategic direction and identify market and product opportunities that will support bioMérieux's future growth in the next-generation sequencing (NGS) market.
This role involves working closely with bioMérieux’s upstream departments: medical affairs, R&D, acquisitions and partnerships, market access, and other marketing departments.
You will define a strategic direction, considering trends, market and customer insights, as well as technological advancements, and develop business cases to inform upstream innovation projects.
Additionally, you will lead the process of screening external opportunities, ensuring alignment with bioMérieux's strategic goals.
What will be your missions within bioMérieux?
They are centered around 3 main areas:
Strategic Direction Definition:
- Analyze market and technology trends to define a long-term strategic roadmap for sequencing.
- Incorporate customer insights, competitor landscape, and emerging innovations to build a clear and actionable strategy.
- Develop frameworks to assess and prioritize strategic initiatives based on business impact and feasibility.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align strategic direction with corporate goals and investment priorities.
Upstream Project Support:
- Provide strategic marketing insights to guide upstream product development efforts.
- Build comprehensive business cases that outline market needs, financial projections, and competitive positioning.
- Work closely with R&D, medical affairs, and regulatory teams to ensure product concepts align with market expectations.
- Support early-stage product development initiatives by defining key value propositions and customer benefits.
External Opportunity Triage:
- Lead the evaluation and prioritization of external opportunities
- Support the due diligence process by providing market insights and strategic recommendations.
Who are you ?
- Strong knowledge of NGS technologies, applications, and competitive landscape.
- Ideally, either a master's or PhD in molecular biology, genomics, biotechnology, or a related field, or strong experience in strategic marketing, product management, or business development within the sequencing or genomics industry.
- Experience in IVD is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess market opportunities and develop actionable strategies.
- Proven ability to build business cases and strategic plans based on data-driven insights.
- Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in market analysis tools, data visualization platforms, and strategic planning methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of sequencing technologies, bioinformatics trends, and clinical applications.
- Familiarity with regulatory landscapes and reimbursement pathways related to sequencing would be beneficial.
