The IS/IT Purchasing Department is looking for an experienced Category Manager based in Marcy to manage a strategic procurement portfolio. This portfolio includes Infrastructure & Workplace (Software, Telecommunications, Cloud Services, Data Center Services, Network and Infrastructure, Hardware and Accessories) and Cybersecurity (Managed Services, Intellectual Services, and Software). In collaboration with their manager, the purchasing department, and the relevant operational departments, the role involves leading the definition and implementation of purchasing strategies for the procurement categories, solutions, and suppliers under their responsibility, with the aim of optimizing costs, quality, and service, anticipating and minimizing risks, and fostering innovation. They will also be responsible for ensuring the deployment of these strategies across the company, managing a relevant network of procurement and business partners for the categories or suppliers they are responsible for.

 

What are your responsibilities at bioMérieux?

 

  • Design and develop purchasing strategies for the categories under their responsibility and communicate their content, leading their implementation across the bioMérieux organization (global responsibility). Manage their procurement portfolio in terms of cost, benchmarks, and market trends for the product/service offering.
  • Define and manage the supplier panel for the procurement categories under their responsibility (including supplier approval, in coordination with contributing functions).
  • Manage the relationship with suppliers to support bioMérieux's business objectives in the short and long term in terms of business opportunities, value creation, risk management, innovation, quality, service, and cost reduction.
  • Design, lead, and capture supplier performance optimization projects.
  • Conduct contract analyses with suppliers; prepare and lead supplier reviews, particularly regarding QCDS performance, evaluation of the supplier's strategic positioning, business prospects, strategic products/services, and market development. Mobilize appropriate bioMérieux resources to capture and implement supplier innovations and improvement ideas.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the CSR policy within the framework of the G028 plan.
  • Conduct RFPs or direct negotiations according to your category strategies. Negotiate the total cost of ownership and terms and conditions; manage frame agreements; issue purchase orders to suppliers; manage contractual compliance and contract execution, as well as a contract events register; manage and resolve potential claims/litigious situations with suppliers; escalate major contractual non-performances; manage supply changes; define the terms of the supplier relationship.
  • Track and report the savings achieved (PnL and cost avoidance) from various initiatives, monitor the objectives, and contribute to budget definition.

Who are you?

 

  • Holder of a Master's degree with a specialization in Purchasing, you have at least 7 years of experience in Purchasing. A dual competence in Purchasing/technical or legal would be a plus.
  • You have managed several commodities in a regulated and multicultural environment.
  • You are comfortable with complex problems for which no pre-existing solution exists.
  • You master the technical principles, agendas, and practices of the various professions related to an IT department.
  • You are comfortable preparing presentations and convincing at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Autonomy, business sense, analytical skills, and proactivity.
