To support the growth of our activities in clinical microbiology and ID/AST, we are recruiting an Innovation Scientist Leader - Microbiology, ID/AST in Marcy l'étoile.
The Joint Research Laboratory, located at the heart of the hospital sites of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, develops diagnostic innovations leveraging strong clinical, microbiological, and technological expertise. Our projects span biomarker development, clinical data exploitation, and the exploration of new multi‑technology approaches with significant impact on patient care.
Reporting to the Director of the Innovation Biosciences team, you will play a key role in the generation and maturation of early‑stage innovations.
What will be your missions ?
- Structuring and leading the scientific strategy in ID/AST (journal clubs, thematic groups).
- Identifying new innovation opportunities (Hunting Grounds) and driving exploratory activities.
- Designing and supervising experimental plans for early validation of innovative solutions.
- Building clinical and health‑economic value evidence for new concepts.
- Collaborating cross‑functionally with Marketing, Medical Affairs, clinical teams, and academic partners.
- Supervising students, PhD candidates, and young scientists, while fostering a collaborative and stimulating work environment.
Who are you ?
- Advanced degree in clinical microbiology, infectious diseases, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial or clinical environment, ideally with exposure to IVD use.
- Strong command of the following technologies: qPCR/dPCR, NGS, genomic analysis, microbial culture, multi‑technology integration.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, scientific leadership, and project management abilities.
- Comfortable working in collaborative hospital‑university and industrial environments.
Full professional proficiency in English is essential.
