The internship will take place in Marcy-l’Étoile, near Lyon, within the Global HSE & Sustainability team. Its responsibilities include occupational risk prevention, carbon footprint reduction, hazardous substance management, improvement of products’ environmental performance, and management of HSE data and indicators.

In this context, the intern will contribute to developing an internal Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodological framework tailored to in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products. The intern will work with the LCA expert and the internal network of eco-partners, bringing together functions including R&D, procurement, packaging, supply chain and marketing. Based in France, the intern’s work will have an international scope across bioMérieux’s main product ranges.

    • Develop a practical methodological guide supported by templates, tools and review criteria for use in future studies.

    • Harmonize models and, where necessary, recalculate or supplement results to enable consistent interpretation across product ranges.
    • Perform contribution, sensitivity and uncertainty analyses to identify the main impact drivers and opportunities for environmental improvement.
    • Prepare a clear summary of results and recommendations for PEP, R&D, industrial and marketing teams.
    • Present findings to key stakeholders and support adoption of the methodology by the relevant teams.

Initial practical experience through an academic project, a thesis or professional experience would be an asset, but is not mandatory.
    • a strong interest in data analysis and digital tools is expected. Knowledge of LCA software (SimaPro, GaBi, etc.), Excel, environmental databases (ecoinvent), or the healthcare and in vitro diagnostics sector would be an asset and may be further developed during the internship.
