Join the Data Science Europe R&D team, based in Marcy-l’Étoile or La Balme, as a Senior Data Engineer and contribute to develop reliable, high-performance, and secure data solutions supporting major healthcare innovations.
 
You will play a central role in the design, industrialization, and evolution of our data infrastructure. Combining cloud technologies, robust pipelines, and high security standards, you will handle sensitive data with confidence.
 
As a driver of continuous improvement, you will promote engineering best practices and help foster a strong data culture. You will work in an international environment and collaborate closely with R&D, Software, and Information Systems teams. The role also involves regular travel across Rhône-Alpes sites to support projects across our different locations.
 
What will be your missions ?
 
Your responsibilities will focus on 3 main areas: building and optimizing our data platforms, ensuring data quality, consistency and security, and promoting engineering best practices, including:
 
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines and data warehouses (Python, SQL, cloud) for the EU Data Science department.
  • Automating and orchestrating workflows to ensure performance, reliability, and production readiness.
  • Implementing reliable, traceable data transformations that meet strict data integrity requirements.
  • Applying compliance and security standards (ISO27001, ISO13485, HIPAA, GDPR) for the management of sensitive and PHI data.
  • Participating in code reviews, technical workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting best practices through mentoring, documentation, and internal training within the EU Data Science department.
  • Maintaining active technology watch on emerging data engineering trends.

 

Who are you ?
 
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering, data platforms, and batch/real-time pipelines.
  • Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and data processing technologies.
  • Solid experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration tools (Snowflake, Prefect, Databricks, Dagster…), monitoring, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ISO27001, ISO13485, HIPAA, and GDPR standards is highly valued.
  • Ideally familiar with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, OMOP…).
  • Strong technical leadership and ability to support team skill development.
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working in cross-functional environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and clear documentation practices.
  • Curious, autonomous, and motivated by innovation.
  • Fluent English required (written and spoken in an international environment).
