Vice President & General Manager, India & Neighbouring Markets

Accountable For:

  1. Leading company mission, values and behaviours to employees
  2. Financial performance of the subsidiary. Specific accountability for Clinical Operations.
  3. Protecting and improving bioMérieux’s image in the marketplace
  4. Being the legal representative for bioMerieux India. While leading the Clinical Operations team, to be the accountable representive for the matrix organization with dotted line reporting of functions.,

 

Typical Duties are to:

  • Formulating effective local strategy (as a part of overall organization strategy) to drive bioMerieux’s market share, customer experience and profitability for India & NM market. This will require drafting a stretched but achievable business plan for the year and Strat plan for longer term horizon.
  • P&L responsibility for the India &NM Clinical portfolio and general management responsibility of aligned organizational functions and departments
  • Formulate organizational policies and the setting of a local strategic direction & plan in alignment with corporate guidance
  • Ensure the organization’s performance complies with set policies and statutory regulations
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence and process improvement through encouraging cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive efficiency, high levels of personal accountability and ownership
  • Ensure the organizational structure / strategy is aligned to business requirements and a One bioMerieux approach
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, health authorities and key opinion leaders within the India & NM marketplace
  • Liaise & develop relationships with external providers (public relations, market research, industry groups, government departments, etc) and key internal stakeholders / departments at a local, regional and global level
  • Ongoing review of the Quality Management System, addressing required actions and continuously improving processes to ensure compliance with required standards
  • Lead and inspire the local India & NM bioMerieux business to achieve business outcomes through driving accountability in alignment with bioMerieux values and core behaviours
  • Overall people leadership including recruitment, retention, engagement, appraisal, training & development, mentoring and motivation
  • Participate as a member of the relevant committees, management teams and the ASPAC Leadership team
  • Ongoing evaluate and optimization of the distributor management strategy to drive the INDIA & NM business
  • Act as chief spokesperson for the organization
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • Extensive and diverse previous work experience in a variety of senior management positions .
  • Deep understanding of Indian healthcare ecosystem – IVD experience would definitely be a very strong added advantage.
  • Previous experience working with a global organisation especially with a matrix reporting system will be an advantage.
  • Strong strategic management, business acumen and the ability to creatively solve problems
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to lead and motivate staff at all levels
  • Formal tertiary qualifications ideally in a science or business-related field and post graduate qualifications in management or an MBA is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership & communication skills
