Travel: Approximately 40% throughout the METER region and internationally

 

Role Overview:

The Cluster Medical Director will lead the development and execution of a medical strategy tailored to the diverse and complex METER region. This role involves significant strategic leadership, scientific expertise, and stakeholder engagement to demonstrate the medical value of bioMérieux's IVD solutions and improve patient outcomes.

As the Cluster Medical Director for the METER region, you will have a diverse and impactful role.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Strategic Leadership & Adaptation :
    • You will develop and execute the medical strategy for the METER cluster, ensuring it aligns with bioMérieux's global objectives while addressing the unique medical needs of the region.
  2. Scientific & Medical Expertise:
    • You will maintain a high level of scientific and medical knowledge, providing essential support and training to internal teams to enhance their understanding and promotion of our solutions.
  3. Medical Affairs Strategy Implementation:
    • You will implement a robust medical affairs strategy for key products, ensuring successful launches and achieving post-launch objectives.
  4. Evidence Generation Support :
    • You will support Principal Investigators in aligning study proposals with our evidence generation objectives, ensuring strategic alignment and impactful outcomes.
  5. Medical Communication & Education :
    • You will develop and deliver educational programs for both internal teams and external stakeholders, effectively communicating the medical value of our solutions.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement :
    • You will build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), scientific societies, and patient associations, organizing medical advisory board meetings to gather insights and drive initiatives.
  7. Commercial Objectives Alignment:
    • You will support the achievement of commercial objectives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and aligning medical strategies with business goals.
  8. Team Leadership & Development:
    • You will lead the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team, fostering a high-performing environment and encouraging professional growth through mentorship and training.
  9. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • You will collaborate with the METER cluster leadership team, contributing your medical expertise to strategic decisions and operational plans.

 

What is your profile?

To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications and attributes:

Education & Experience:

    • You hold an MD with an advanced degree in health science (preferred).
    • You have expertise in Infectious Diseases, Acute Care, or Critical Care.
    • You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in medical affairs within the IVD or pharmaceutical industry.
    • You have proven experience leading diverse teams.

IVD Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with in vitro diagnostics and clinical laboratories is highly desirable.
