Job Purpose
The Field Application Specialist is the front-line technical support representative responsible for providing solution-oriented consultative training, technical support, and troubleshooting at customer sites throughout each technical support interaction in the field. Through these activities, the Field Application Specialist helps retain customers by developing and strengthening customer relationships and intimacy, resulting in increased customer loyalty, retention, contract renewals, and positive referrals.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide ongoing technical support for bioMérieux systems and reagents, including pre-installation, technical installation, configuration, connection, on-site customer training, validation, and verification.
- Answer internal and external customer inquiries.
- Provide proactive and corrective fine-tuning of assay applications to ensure optimal analytical performance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance through timely and accurate documentation in the ERP system.
- Complete all post-technical support documentation in ERP and CRM systems as necessary to update planners, customer administration, and customer care teams.
- Support the sales team and sales cycle by providing technical sales support in preparing tenders, contracts, product presentations, and demonstrations.
- Provide consistent follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Promote bioMérieux solution demonstrations, evaluations, and on-site visits as part of post-sales activities.
- Perform PC obsolescence and software updates in cooperation with Field Service Engineers.
- Develop and retain business by strengthening customer relationships.
- Make organizational recommendations regarding equipment usage to optimize workflow and address technical, quality, and productivity requirements.
- Enable bioMérieux customers to fully utilize the technical potential of solutions, including interpretation of results, specimen management, and workflow optimization.
- Capture information on the competitive environment, leads, and opportunities.
- Define and establish the most appropriate methods based on personal or shared experience, present appropriate solutions, and improve or develop the current approach.
- Understand each customer's situation and recommend appropriate solutions accordingly.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field relevant to bioMérieux products and business specificities.
- Strong training capabilities.
- Knowledge of laboratory workflows and automation.
- Good communication skills with relevant stakeholders and the ability to communicate ideas clearly.
- No restrictions on local or international business travel.
- Fluency in English is preferred.
- Ability to drive a vehicle.
