Position Summary:
The Senior CDSS Business Manager (or Senior Healthcare Business Developer) is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the market presence of Clinical Decision Support Software (CDSS) within the healthcare sector. This role achieves its objectives through strategic prospecting, effective selling, and building strong relationships with both existing and prospective customers, focusing on customer satisfaction, retention, and overall success. The position requires evaluating customer needs, developing tailored solutions, and managing the sales process from opportunity identification to closing, often engaging with C-suite executives and key opinion leaders in hospitals. As a field-based leader, the Senior CDSS Business Manager collaborates closely with marketing, sales, and product teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and contributing to the company’s mission of advancing public health through innovative diagnostic solutions. This role is pivotal in integrating advanced CDSS technologies into healthcare systems, supporting bioMérieux’s commitment to combating antimicrobial resistance and improving patient outcomes. This is a field-based position that requires regular travel throughout Canada, covering all provinces and territories.
Primary Duties:
- Drives revenue growth and expands market presence for Clinical Decision Support Software (CDSS) by prospecting and selling to healthcare customers.
- Manages the entire sales pipeline, from lead and opportunity identification through contracting and closing.
- Builds and nurtures strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives and hospital decision-makers.
- Evaluates customer needs and leads the development of tailored CDSS solutions to address specific challenges.
- Coordinates commercial activities and aligns cross-functional teams to maximize business opportunities.
- Leads expert-level discussions with clinical and technical stakeholders to demonstrate CDSS value.
- Develops and executes strategic plans for territory management and market expansion.
- Facilitates partnerships with regional and national actors, as well as IT companies, to enhance solution connectivity.
- Oversees customer success initiatives to ensure satisfaction, retention, and long-term loyalty.
- Provides accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reviews to management.
- Maintains up-to-date records and strategic activities in CRM.
- Monitors customer accounts for renewal opportunities and proactively develops retention strategies.
- Collaborates with marketing, product, and account management teams to drive integrated commercial efforts.
- Stays informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and product updates to maintain market leadership.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Business, or a related field is required
- Proficiency in spoken English
- Proficiency in French a plus
Experience
- 7 years of related experience to include:
- Experience in selling to Hospitals, Clinical Pharmacy, Infectious Diseases and Infection Prevention stakeholders.
- Proven experience in Clinical & Digital Sales, demonstrating a strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
- Proven experience in selling to C-suite executives, including Chief Medical Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Information Officers, and Chief Information Security Officers.
- Established track record of engaging with provincial healthcare agencies across Canada.
- Familiarity with oncology care pathways, cancer treatment protocols is desirable.
Working Conditions and Physicial Requirements
Domestic travel required 50% of the time
