Picker/Packer (Material Handler) - Fixed Term

Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:
Picker/packers are required to accurately prepare orders for shipment, assist in receiving materials and other general warehousing functions.

This is a fixed-term contract position anticipated to run from May - August 2024. 
 

Main Accountabilities:

  • Accurately pick, pack and process orders for shipping in a timely manner to help ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accuracy by verifying items, quantities, batch/lots, serial numbers and other pertinent information on every order.
  • Comply with all special requests and notes on orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory by vigilance, cycle counts, reporting all inventory movements and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
  • Work on a small, fast paced and dynamic team

 

Typical Studies-Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Studies-Experience:
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • General warehouse knowledge including 3 years or more shipping or receiving experience preferred
  • Skills and Qualifications:
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with Manager and others.
    • Ability to follow directions and attention to detail is essential and to work independently at times with minimal supervision.
    • General computers skills and ability to use email, excel and SAP experience is a plus.
    • Able to collaborate with coworkers, adapt to changes in the working environment and focus on customer satisfaction.

 

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to work in warehouse conditions with long periods of standing, walking, bending and in wide temperature ranges.  
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment, work at a fast pace and overtime may be required.
