Education: Graduate qualification in science (Microbiology), laboratory technology or business related field.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in technical sales, marketing with a minimum of 5 Years P&L experience

Reporting to: VP Industry ASPAC
Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:
The Head of Industry Japan will be a key member of the bioMérieux ASPAC Industry Applications Leadership Team responsible for creating and executing business plans to achieve or exceed territory growth per company plan. The successful individual will assist the VP Industry ASPAC in the management of Japan P&L to achieve the budgeted Sales growth, Consolidated Product Margin (CPM) and C-EBIT for the ASPAC region.
Job Description
- Build, develop and manage a Commercial Team to ensure sustainable and ethical performance.
- Cultivate and optimize the performance of the distributor/dealership network(s).
- Ensure that commercial teams have the necessary business tools and knowledge required to support customers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Develops relationships with key customers/opinion leaders within defined territory.
- Develop and implement strategic brand/product/market plans for all business segments, namely Food Safety and Quality, Healthcare and Blood bank.
- Develop strategy and individual responsibilities to close sales of all High Value targets.
- Manage pipeline to ensure timing of closes matches Monthly Forecast & Quarterly Business Plan.
- Coordinate activity of local Sales & Marketing teams in context of business plan.
- Monitor monthly sales as reported for accuracy and adjust action plans to account for shortages towards goal achievement in the region.
- Ensure that all distributors handling the product lines in territory have the competence to expand the business and retain the existing customer base.
- Manage the Industry P/L in Japan
- Foster an environment that attracts, retains, and motivates top quality talent.
- Support all initiatives to optimize Customer Service effectiveness.
- Drive account relationships across Japan and long-term profitability of our Key Strategic Accounts.
- Monitor market shares, competitor activities and market trends to identify market opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduate qualification in science (Microbiology), laboratory technology or business-related field.
- Relevant industry (Food safety and/or Pharmaceuticals QC) and territory knowledge (Japan) of lab operations preferred.
- Successful track record in Sales within a Matrix organization, managing complex sales deals.
- Ideally 5 years P/L experience.
- Strong leadership skills as well as team building and strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least 8- related industry.
- Strong communication & analytical skills and a demonstrated creative ability.
- Ability to learn quickly new concepts and procedures.
- Adaptable to fast changes in the work field and willing to be guided and coached by superiors and expert advisers to develop in current role during the required time frame.
Scope and Resources Accountability, typical Performance Indicators:
- Scope and Resources Accountability: Manage the Industry team of 20+ team members.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Industry P&L, Japan growth %, Sales Achievement, Engagement & Retention for Japan Industry team.
- It will involve close collaboration with Asia functional heads, VP & GM Japan at the country level. The position will also have a key focus on stakeholder management and alignment with regional and global Industry team leaders.
