Local Financial Controller
Summary of Job Description:
Reporting to CFO, the controller is a partner and a support for driving the finance activity of the company. She/he manages analyses, controls the financial information needed for the company and for the group. She/he helps the company to reach higher economic standards through effective financial & business planning, resource allocation and management of business performance, both short term & long term.
She/he ensures that the business activity is conducted in full compliance with corporate guidelines and policies and efficient/profitable way. As a business partner, the mission is to improve profitability and optimize the funds invested in the subsidiary by cost management and efficiency.
Major Responsibilities:
Support the CFO in the finance business partnering activities:
- Support CFO/Leadership Team and corporate management in any key project of the company, i.e. ad-hoc tasks, cost effective study, profit margin, key initiatives following up.
- Support CFO/Leadership Team in the budgeting process with collecting data from Sales/Marketing and identifying tool inputs as well as being key partner in the budget review preparation.
- Preparation of monthly performance deck to Asia-Pacific team with analysis of variance on KPIs and qualitative comments from business heads.
- Support the process simplification and automation for operational processes for both finance and non-finance domains.
- Provide internal clients financial and operational indicators to enhance business activities. Be the key counterpart as financial controller for operational team.
Support the CFO in the management of the Japan internal control process and corporate guidelines:
- Follow-up of audit points resolution and implement/review processes to support robust internal controls.
- Lead the sample testing in scope of Internal Control implementation.
Accounting and controlling main tasks (not exhaustive):
- Support the financial reporting through regular variance analysis between actual and forecast/budget/previous year to identify issues and develop corrective action plans with management stakeholders.
- Support the accounting department in the closing process (monthly, quarterly and annually): Manage especially Net Sales, OPEX and P&L allocations.
- Monitor sales discount calculation to wholesalers, documentations related to prices.
- Work with business departments and corporate finance team to initiate reporting of actual cost/expenses, review financial results with business heads on a monthly basis.
- Follow-up the special price requests from Sales & Marketing teams with deal analysis.
- Ensure that the necessary reconciliations and controls are in place to guaranty the accuracy of the financial data/information and analysis between the different systems.
Qualifications, Essential Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor degree in Finance/Administrative Management, Master’s in Management preferred
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with progressive responsibilities
- Advanced English and Japanese level for writing, speaking and listening skills are required for the position.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP , MS Office and Database Management
- Experience in Power Automate or other automation tool is appreciated.
- The successful candidate should have a strong work ethic, ability for problem solving, capable of multi-tasking, excellent communication/interpersonal skills, collaborative with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. He must be self-motivated, good team spirit oriented, with leadership skills to influence transversally and drive projects to results.
