As the Maintenance & Automation Manager reporting to the Production & Maintenance Director, you will be responsible for leading and developing the team of technicians, ensuring the operational continuity of the plant, the reliability of equipment, the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance plans, and identifying and planning equipment obsolescence.
This role combines people management with the coordination of activities aligned with the company's strategic vision, ensuring that the department operates effectively while promoting a culture of quality, HSE, and continuous improvement.
What will your responsibilities?
Leadership and Team Management
- Manage the performance of a multidisciplinary team of maintenance and automation technicians with a continuous development mindset, supporting all team members and fostering unity.
- Build a culture of safety, operational discipline, compliance, and professionalism.
- Coordinate daily shift planning, priorities, workload, and ensure alignment with the production team.
Operational Management
- Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring quick resolution of breakdowns.
- Diagnose anomalies (including SCADA) and define corrective actions.
- Supervise electrical schematics, control systems, PLCs, and technical documentation.
- Lead and support the technical team, ensuring good practices, 5S, and documentation traceability.
- Manage procedures, CMMS, quality documentation, and technical standardization, ensuring complete traceability of all activities, including records linked to the quality system (CAPAs, change control, etc.).
- Monitor and optimize the budgets assigned to the maintenance and automation department.
- Oversee electrical schematics (using tools such as EPLAN or AutoCAD), control architectures, and PLC programming, ensuring proper management of derived documentation.
- Review and approve technical documentation for automation projects.
Regulations, Compliance, and Safety
- Promote a strong safety culture across all interventions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, legal inspections, and internal and external audits, acting as the point of contact for auditors.
- Ensure that all systems and equipment comply with occupational safety and HSE regulations.
Who are you?
- Technical engineer or equivalent experience in industrial environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation, or similar environments.
- Fluent level of English.
- Proven experience leading technical teams in complex environments.
- Strong command of maintenance planning, automation systems, PLCs, and electrical schematics.
- Solid decision‑making abilities under pressure.
- Strong communication, people management, conflict resolution, and prioritization skills.
- Results‑oriented, with a sense of urgency, operational discipline, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Knowledge of HSE standards and industrial regulations.
