As a Maintenance & Automation Technician, reporting the Maintenance & Automation Manager, you will ensure the availability, reliability, and efficiency of industrial equipment and facilities through the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as providing support, programming, and optimization of automation and control systems. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the production process and to compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
What will be your missions at bioMérieux?
A. Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on machinery and industrial facilities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and instrumentation failures.
- Repair or replace components such as motors, sensors, actuators, drives, servomotors, electrical panels, and pneumatic components.
- Carry out adjustments and verifications after interventions to ensure proper equipment operation.
B. Industrial Automation and Control
- Program, modify, and adjust PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems according to operational needs.
- Configure, calibrate, and maintain sensors, vision systems, robots, and industrial control elements.
- Analyze failure history, alarms, and process parameters to propose improvements.
- Participate in the commissioning of new machines or automated production lines.
C. Continuous Improvement and Reliability
- Propose and implement improvements aimed at increasing equipment availability and reducing recurring failures.
- Document maintenance activities and ensure the updating of equipment history and technical documentation.
- Collaborate in energy efficiency projects and initiatives to reduce maintenance and production costs.
D. Documentation Management and Regulatory Compliance
- Update electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, PLC documentation, and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
Who are you?
Education:
- University Degree related to Automation, Industrial Engineering or similar, or Higher Technical Degree (FP) in Industrial Maintenance, Automation and Robotics, Industrial Electronics, or equivalent technical training.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or automation roles.
Automation & Control knowledge required:
- PLCs: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider.
- HMI and control systems programming, adjustment, and troubleshooting.
- Drives, instrumentation, and industrial communication systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex automation issues.
Robotics & Industrial Systems knowledge required:
- Knowledge of robotics and MES / SCADA systems in industrial environments.
Maintenance & Technical Skills:
- Advanced technical troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, electronic, and automation).
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings.
Industrial Environment (plus):
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial production environment is a strong plus.
Personal Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems autonomously.
- Proactive mindset with a strong orientation toward continuous improvement.
- High awareness of safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Languages:
- Intermediate level of English required.
